WhatsApp Setup
Skode Flow connects to the official WhatsApp Business API, enabling your team to send and receive WhatsApp messages at scale. This guide walks you through connecting your WhatsApp Business account, configuring message templates, and managing conversations.
Prerequisites
- A Facebook Business Manager account
- A verified WhatsApp Business account
- A dedicated phone number for WhatsApp (not used on WhatsApp personal or WhatsApp Business app)
- A Skode Flow subscription (Free tier includes 1,000 conversations/month)
Connecting Your Account
Navigate to Flow > Channels > WhatsApp and click Connect WhatsApp. You will be redirected to Facebook to authorize Skode as a Business Solution Provider. Select the phone number you want to connect, verify the OTP sent to that number, and complete the setup. The connection is live within minutes.
Message Templates
WhatsApp requires pre-approved templates for initiating conversations. Navigate to Flow > Templates to create new templates. Each template has a category (marketing, utility, or authentication), header, body with variables, footer, and optional buttons. Submit templates for Meta review — approval typically takes 1-24 hours.
Conversation Management
Incoming WhatsApp messages appear in the Unified Inbox alongside messages from other channels. Agents can respond with text, images, documents, videos, and interactive buttons. Conversation history persists across sessions, and all messages are automatically linked to the corresponding CRM contact.
Automation & AI
Use Skode Flow's workflow builder to automate WhatsApp responses. Set up welcome messages for new contacts, auto-replies during off-hours, and keyword-triggered flows. The AI Agent can handle initial conversations and hand off to human agents when needed. See AI Agent Setup for details.
Compliance
Skode enforces WhatsApp's messaging policies including 24-hour session windows, opt-in requirements, and rate limits. The platform tracks opt-in consent per contact and prevents sending to contacts who have not opted in. Quality rating and messaging limits are visible in the dashboard.
